Cabana at The Viceroy
The other night Amy, myself, Pernilla (Amy's pal and co-worker) and their boss Ken Baker all went to the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica for drinks and to pretend to be like a celeb for the night. Ken took us to dinner at the Brentwood (our fave restaurant) and then gave us the surprise of Champagne in our own private poolside Cabana at the uber-trendy Viceroy. We had bottles of Veuve Cliqout champagne and fancy desserts. Was a hot night and the place was packed so it was fun to sit back and watch all the beautiful people crowd together from our ringside seats and sip champagne. Thanks Ken for a great time!

My Super Ex-Girlfriend
Met up with my high school sweetheart that I hadn't seen in ages the other night and had alot of fun re-living the old days and catching up on what's going on in her life now. Her name is Jennifer Lohmann (nee Evans, nee Dempsey) and she has 3 kids and she is a teacher up in Chico, Ca. She was in San Diego for her 20 year High School reunion and she wanted to meet up while she was in LA to see her ex-hubby Joe Dempsey (an LA cop and my old boss when I was spinning pizzas!). We met at Houston's in Manhattan Beach and had dinner in the bar. Amy came with me and we all got on swimmingly. Amy enjoyed hearing stories of what I was like back in the day and we updated each other on what was happening in our lives today. Lots of laughs and fond memories (even the bad memories seem funny now) and drinks to loosen the old tongue! They finally kicked us out of the place around 11 and Jen had to go back to Joe's and get back to her daughter Natalie and her busy life. Here's to you Jen! Good luck in the future and stay wonderful!

Pearljam...Still Rockin' In The Free World
Just went to the Pearljam show at The Forum last night and they were awesome! My best friend Jack hooked me and Amy up with some tickets (he is a close pal of Eddie Vedder's) and we had great seats. Eddie's voice was as good as ever and the show was very HIGH energy (the people behind us were blazing some weed and I think I got a contact high!). The highlights of the show were Even Flow (with a great drum solo by Matt Cameron), Betterman (always a great concert song), Alive, which was a showstopper in the first encore, and of course, Rockin in The Free World, the last song. Actor Tim Robbins came out to sing an old X song with Eddie with mixed results but it was cool anyway. Not too much politicking by Eddie in this show- just good clean fun. No mosh pit for Pearljam anymore but still a great show...Pearljam Rules!

Ollie-Pop
Although I prefer Soda Pop or Gizmo the public has spoken and our new puppy's name is going to be Oliver. After polling many people from different cross-section of the city Oliver was the hands-down winner in the name contest. My new nickname for him is Ollie-Pop (like Lollipop) and it seems to have stuck. I must admit that he does just kind of look like an Oliver for some reason and am happy with the name. He's getting some personality now and he really likes to play with Biscuit but Biskie doesn't always feel the same. They are fun to watch toghether and hopefully they will be thick as thieves before we know it!
